Participants

  • When is the deadline to register and guarantee I get a shirt?
    • The pre-registration cut off is Thursday, November 2 at midnight. All entries received by November 2 are guaranteed a t-shirt on race day. Pre-registration applies only for entries received by mail or dropped off at Fleet Feet or the Jesus Center no later than November 2 or online by the same date.
    • For registrations received after November 2, t-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
  • The pre-registration cut off has passed, if I register today, can I still get a shirt?
    • For registrations received after November 2, t-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. Although we cannot guarantee shirts after November 2, we do order some extra.
  • What is a technical shirt?
    • Technical shirts are t-shirts made of a synthetic fabric that is breathable and suitable for athletic activities.
  • Can I register on race day?
    • Yes, Race Day Registration is available between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m. You must be in line by 8:30 a.m. to register for run/walk. Registration for chip timing will not be available on race day.
  • At what time does the race start?
    • The run starts at 9 am rain or shine at One Mile Recreation Area in Lower Bidwell Park.
  • Can I bring my dog?
    • For the safety of all participants, we request that you do not bring your pets to the park on Race Day.
  • Can I bring my child in a stroller?
    • Yes, strollers are welcome.
  • Where can I park on race morning?
    • The park will be closed to vehicle traffic on race day. Parking is limited, so when possible please make arrangements to carpool, be dropped off, or ride your bike to the event.
  • How much are the registration fees?

    • Untimed Adults -$25
    • Timed Adults -$30
    • Children 12 and under*, untimed with bib & shirt - $20
    • Children 12 and under*, timed with bib & shirt - $25
    • Children 12 and under*, untimed, no bib or shirt FREE
  • After November 2, including Race Day:
    • Untimed Adults - $30
    • Timed Adults - $35
    • Children 12 and under*, untimed with bib & shirt - $25
    • Children 12 and under*, timed with bib & shirt - $30
    • Children 12 and under*, untimed, no bib or shirt FREE
  • If I decide to be chip timed, is there an extra fee?
    • Yes, timed runners pay an extra $5 to cover the timing costs.
  • If I don’t want to register online, how can I register?
    • If you don’t want to register online, there are 3 other options:
      • Mail Registration Form to PO Box 1535, Chico, CA 95927
      • Register in person at Fleet Feet (241 Main Street) or Jesus Center (1297 Park Avenue)*cash or check only
      • Register on Day of Race Registration: Between 7:00 and 8:30 AM. You must be in line by 8:30 AM to register for the run/walk.
  • Can I pick up the packet for a friend/family member?
    • You may pick up a packet for a friend/family member if you are authorized to pick up their packet and sign on their behalf. Nevertheless, packet pickup is organized alphabetically by last name. If you are planning on picking up a packet for someone else, you will be asked to wait in the line that services that participant's last name.
  • Can I register during packet pick up?
    • Yes, you can register during packet pick up. Please visit Fleet Feet Sports on Tuesday, November 21 or Wednesday, November 22 from 10 AM to 6 PM.  Fleet Feet Chico is located on 241 Main Street in Chico, CA
  • When is packet pick up?
    • Packet Pick up takes place at Fleet Feet Sports on Tuesday, November 21 and Wednesday, November 22 from 10 AM to 6 PM. Fleet Feet Chico is located on 241 Main Street in Chico, CA
  • Does the RFF have a Facebook page?
  • I registered for the Run for Food, can I get a receipt for tax purposes?
    • Your registration for the Run for Food is not tax deductible.
  • Is my donation tax deductible?
    • All donations are 100% tax deductible. Once your donation has been processed, you can request to receive a receipt with the Jesus Center’s Tax ID on it.
  • Can I purchase extra shirts?
    • Yes, extra t-shirts are available for purchase online and must be ordered by November 2. Standard entry includes a long-sleeve, cotton blend t-shirt. Short-sleeve technical shirt upgrades are available through November 2 by online registration only.
  • I am not going to be in town on Thanksgiving day this year, can I just purchase shirts without registering?
    • If you are out of town and cannot participate in the Event, we invite you to support the Run for Food and the Jesus Center by registering and virtually running at a different location or at a different time. You can pick up your shirt on Tuesday, November 21 and Wednesday, November 22 from 10 AM to 6 PM at Fleet Feet or after the Event at the Jesus Center.
  • I already registered and want to change the size of my shirt...
  • I already registered as a timed runner but changed my mind and don’t want to be timed…
  • I already registered as a non-timed runner but changed my mind and want to be timed…
    • If you want to purchase a chip, please contact chico@runforfood.com to make arrangements to pay the extra $5 fee. No chip time available on Race Day.
  • I already registered and wanted to purchase additional merchandise…
    • If you want to purchase additional merchandise, please contact chico@runforfood.com
    • Additional merchandise available for purchase until November 2.
