One Mile Recreation Area in Lower Bidwell Park


Course
The race will begin and end at One Mile Recreation Area in beautiful Bidwell Park. The course will follow a 5K loop through the park to the Deer Pen Bridge and back to the One Mile area. Click here for a map.

The loop course is flat, paved and free of traffic. Baby strollers and wheelchairs welcome. No bikes, roller blades or pets please.

On Race Day (registration for chip timing will not be available on race day):

*Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is not required for children participating for FREE. T-shirt is not included, but may be purchased separately online by Thursday, November 2 at midnight.

Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  4. Day of Race Registration: Between 7:00 and 8:30 AM. You must be in line by 8:30 AM to register for the run/walk.


Packet Pickup
Save time, avoid race day crowds! Visit Fleet Feet Sports on Tuesday, November 21 or Wednesday, November 22 from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Day of race packet pickup is available between 7:00 and 8:30 AM at One Mile Recreation Area.

Please Note: In an effort to improve our packet pickup process, packet pickup will be organized alphabetically by last name. Please be prepared to stand in the line that services the letter range of your last name. If you are planning on picking up a packet for someone else, you will be asked to wait in the line that services that participant's last name.



Chip Timing

Run for Food utilizes computerized chip timing, which precisely records each runner’s or walker’s official time when they cross the start & finish line. Chip Timing will be available for those registered up through the end of Packet Pickup on Wednesday, November 22 and is only available while supplies last. Registration for chip timing will not be available on race day. Chip fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Finish line closes at 10:20 AM. Official times cannot be guaranteed for those who finish later.


T-Shirts

All entries received by November 2 are guaranteed a t-shirt on race day. Pre-registration applies only for entries received by mail or dropped off at Fleet Feet or the Jesus Center no later than November 2 or online by the same date. For registration forms received after November 2, t-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis at packet pickup while supplies last. Extra t-shirts will be available for purchase online before November 2. Standard entry includes a long-sleeved, cotton blend t-shirt. Short-sleeved, technical shirt upgrades are available through November 2 by online registration only.

If you pre-register for the Run for Food and do not claim your t-shirt by December 31, 2017, then your t-shirt will either be made available for other participants who late-registered for the event or may be donated.

Merchandise

This year, the Run for Food will be offering 2017 Run for Food merchandise for sale online by November 2 and at Packet Pickup (cash/check only) while supplies last!

Note: Long Sleeve Shirts and Technical Shirt are available through online registration only.

Awards
Awards ceremony will be held near the finish line after the run/walk is concluded. Awards will be given out to the top overall female and male runners. Awards will also be given out to the top three finishers in male/female and top finishers in each age category. Awards are given out to chip timed runners only.


Parking
The park will be closed to vehicle traffic on race day. Parking is limited, so when possible please make arrangements to carpool, be dropped off, or ride your bike to the event.
