Below you will find important announcements and information specific to the Weed Run for Food:

Location*
College of the Siskiyous, Weed Campus

*In the event of accumulated snow on the ground, an alternate course will be used at Lake Shastina's Hoy Park.  Please watch for e-mail and Facebook updates.


Course
The race starts and ends at the College of the Siskiyous football field/track in Weed. From the track, runners and walkers go three quarters of a mile around the COS campus and enter the scenic and wooded two mile "Bear Trail."  The 5k course concludes with a victory lap around the track.  Click here for a map.

A small section of the Bear Trail is single track and large wheel running strollers are recommended for parents with small children. Wheelchairs are not recommended.  No bikes, roller blade or pets please.

Entry Fees & Registration

Pre-registered by November 1:
Adults $25
Children 12 and under*, timed $20
Children 12 and under*, untimed, no shirt or bib FREE

After November 1, including Race Day:
All Adults, no exceptions $30
Children 12 and under*, timed $25
Children 12 and under*, untimed, no shirt or bib FREE

Registration is not required for children participating for FREE. T-shirt is not included, but may be purchased separately online before Nov. 1.

*Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

2. Drop off Registration Form at Sportsmen's Den (402 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd.)

4. At Packet Pickup on Nov. 23 at Sportsmen's Den from 3 - 6 PM
5. Day of Race Registration: Between 7:30 - 9 AM. You must be in line by 8:45 AM to register for the run/walk.

Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Packet Pickup
Save time, avoid race day crowds! Visit Sportsmen's Den on Wednesday, November 21 from 3 - 6 PM.

Day of race packet pickup is available between 7:30 - 9 AM at the COS football stadium.


Timing
Run for Food utilizes manual race timing for those that wish to be timed. Competitive runners will wear bib numbers with pull tabs for timing and placement.  Timing will be available for those registered through race day.

Finish line closes at 10:15 AM.  Official times cannot be guaranteed for those who finish later.


T-Shirts & Awards
All entries received by November 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt on race day. Pre-registration applies only for entries received by mail or dropped off at Sportsmen's Den no later than November 1 or online by the same date. For registration forms received after November 1, t-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. (Note: Additional T-shirts will be available for purchase online before November 1.)

Awards ceremony will be held at the COS football stadium after the run/walk is concluded. Awards will be given out to the top overall female and male runners. Awards will also be given out to the top male and female in each of the following categories: 10 and under, 11-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70 & over. 


Parking
There is plenty of free parking at COS Weed Campus.


Additional Information
Refreshments are provided for participants at the end of the event.  Restrooms are available at the football stadium.
